There were many entries in this class. The committee pronounced most articles in this class worthy of merit, but it was left for another committee to fix the amount of premium. The articles have been removed, and they could not judge, and allowed premiums on about one-half the articles. It is proposed in the future that one committee decide both merit and premium, which would be more just and satisfactory. The following persons were awarded premiums: Howard Stow, S. C. Barker, Delia Banta, Mrs. Ethrington, D. P. Oak, Lemuel Bledsoe, J. A. Fisher, Carrie Wooley, Jane Simmons, Mrs. Jackson, S. Buffington, E. S. Downey, Mary A. Dorrell, S. Stow, Mrs. Stagg, John Sohn, E. Livingston, B. F. Buchanan, Thomson Blue, C. A. Robinson.
