The Vevay, Switzerland County, Indiana city council report appeared in:

The City Council met at the Court House last Monday night.
Mr. B. F. Gilbert was qualified as Councilman from the 4th ward.
Several bills were allowed.
A petition from a number of citizens was presented, asking that Tell street be opened from its present terminus, on Market street, to the river. The Council deferred action in the matter until its next regular meeting.
The landing at the foot of Washington street was rented to Owens & Davies for one year from June 1, 1869, for $50.00.
There is some doubt as to whether the new law in regard to working roads (passed by the last Legislature) is now in force, or not. Messrs. Teats, Edgar, and Archer were appointed a Committee to procure legal advice on the subject; and report their opinion at the next meeting of the Council on Monday night next.
The Marshal was appointed Health Officer.
The Council agreed to visit the Cemetery.
The following Committees were appointed:
- On Claims—Teats, Boerner and Holdcraft.
- On Public Wharves—Teats, Gilbert and Holdcraft.
- On Streets and Alleys—Edgar, Archer, and Gilbert.
- On Cemetery—Boerner, Edgar, and Archer.
A special meeting of the Council will be held next Monday night.
