LOCAL SOLDIER HISTORY.
Muster Roll of Company D, 93d Indiana.

We have before us a duplicate muster out roll of one of the companies of soldiers that went from Switzerland county—D, 93d Indiana Infantry, commanded by Capt. F. L. Courvoiser. There was also another company from this county in this regiment—C, commanded by Capt. Samuel B. Davis. The total enlistment of Co. D. was 102 men, all of which are accounted for. When mustered out there was but 9 officers commissioned and non-commissioned, and 21 privates, present for duty. Of those absent 9 were sick and 10 were prisoners of war. We publish the muster roll nearly entire, condensing some portions of “remarks” to save space. It is one of the two muster rolls signed by the muster-out officer. Capt. Theo. Livings found it among his papers and has sent it to Capt. Courvoiser, at San Francisco, California, who needs it corresponding with pensioners:

“Muster out roll of Capt. Fred. L. Courvoiser, Company D, 93d Regiment of Indiana Infantry Volunteers, commanded by Colonel D. W. C. Thomas, called into the service of the United States by the President, at Madison, Indiana, (the place of rendezvous) on the 28th day of September, 1862, to serve for the term of three years from the date of enrollment, unless sooner discharged; from the 28th day of February, 1865, (when last paid) to the 10th day of August, 1865, when mustered out. The company was organized by Captain Daniel B. Jaynes, at Switzerland county, in the month of August, 1862, and marched thence to Madison, Indiana, where it arrived the 20th of August, a distance of 20 miles.”

THE FAIR
At East Enterprise—Large Attendance and Good Display

PREMIUMS AWARDED.

It had been oft repeated that owing to the severity of drought, the scarcity of water, the dust, and depressed feeling of the people on account of shortage of crops, “the Enterprise Fair would be a failure this year.” We are pleased to record that the prediction and not the Fair has failed. As proof we refer to the 6,000 people in attendance on Friday of the Fair; we point to the 1,100 articles entered for premiums, the exhibition of horses (never better), the cattle, hogs, sheep, poultry, machinery, farm and musical instruments, and the ladies’ department, needle work and table delicacies, so very full and fine. The potatoes and vegetables were twice as large as we had anticipated, and the fruits and grains a good display. The receipts will enable the society to meet its obligations, and all accounts be squared, as promised. Thanks to the people, exhibitors and visitors, for their liberal support and patronage. The premium winners were:
