County Business.

Among other business transacted by the County Commissioners—Luther Buck, Robert Scott, and William Brindley—at their session last week, was the following:

William Rowin, Jacob H. Bruner, and Joshua H. Scranton, were licensed to retail liquor in Patriot.

“Ordered by the Board, that the order relating to holding meetings in the Court room, be and is construed by the Board to exclude all political club meetings.”

J. D. Davis, H. Myers, S. Lostutter, viewers appointed at the June term in the case of petition of Thomas Gibbons and others for change of highway—reported, that the proposed change was not of sufficient public utility, and that the public would not be benefited by said change. The report was accepted and approved.

The Auditor was ordered to advertise in the Vevay papers, that there are several boys and girls at the County Poor House for whom good homes are wanted.

Wm. C. Robinson, County Treasurer, presented to the Board of County orders redeemed by him during the quarter ending August 31, 1884, amounting to $13,013.36, which were compared with the Auditor’s Register of Warrants, found correct, and approved.

The Board issued four bonds of one thousand dollars each (nos. 38, 39, 40, 41,) in all four thousand dollars, maturing in five years, but payable at any time previous at the option of the County, and bearing five percent interest.
