County Business.
County Commissioners, Shadday, Lock and Land, met last Monday. William Pickett, Patriot; John M. Grammer, William H. Myers, Vevay; William Lukie, Patriot, were granted license to retail liquors. Thomas Picket, Markland, filed an application for license to retail liquors, but a remonstrance was filed and the case will be tried before the Board next Friday, 8th.
The following Election Inspectors were appointed. Township Trustees are Inspectors by virtue of their office:
- Jefferson Township, precinct 1, Clarence Drake; 2, U. G. Trafelet, Trustee; 3, Harry Knox; 4, Charles McVey; 5, Jos. B. Ramsyer.
- Pleasant, 1, Jas. N. Neal; 2, Edgar Culbertson, Trustee.
- Craig, 1, Joseph A. Myers; 2, James Stewart, Trustee; 3, Frank Rosenberger, Sr.
- Posey, 1, Harve Jack; 2, William Humphrey, Trustee; 3, William S. Lostutter.
- Cotton, 1, Andrew J. Works, Trustee; 2, Peter Houze.
Some changes were made in places of holding elections, the particulars of which will be officially stated in this paper in the future.
Edwin Hickman declined to act as superintendent of construction of roads nos. 6, 7, 8 and 9 in Posey Township, and Harvey Elliott was appointed to fill the vacancy.
The Board adjourned Monday evening to meet tomorrow, Friday, 8th.

County Business.
The County Commissioners, Thos. Land, Wm. H. Shadday and Walter Lock, held an adjourned term last Friday, 8th.
County officers reported fees collected: Recorder, from March 5th to June 4th, $193; Sheriff, from March 1 to May 31, $168; Clerk, during proceeding three months, $371.34.
It was ordered that Superintendent of Poor Asylum is authorized to employ one hay or wheat harvest hand, at not to exceed $1.25 per day, and one seamstress for not to exceed 40 days between now and Dec. 31st, at 50 cents per day.

In the matter of the application of Thomas Pickett for license to retail liquors in Markland. Remonstrance having been previously filed, the case was herd, many witnesses being examined. The Board granted the license.

County Business.
The County Commissioners met last Monday and contracted for furnishing supplies for the Poor Asylum for the ensuing quarter. Bids for appointment of a Physician for the County Poor Asylum for ensuing year were presented as follows: Dr. H. M. Thiebaud, $124; L. H. Bear, $85; A. A. Stewart, $75; John H. Shadday, $52. Awarded to Dr. Shadday, to include furnishing all medicines, at $52.
