At a meeting of the County Commissioners last Tuesday contracts were made for building a bridge on Grant’s Creek. Henry S. Pate, of Patriot, Ind., being the lowest bidder was awarded the contract for the stone work at $3.40 per cubic yard and 30 cents per cubic yard for the earth fill. The Canton Bridge Co., of Canton, Ohio, being lowest bidder was awarded the contract for the iron bridge, at $19.90 per lineal foot. The bridge is to be completely ready for travel by October 1, 1885. This is an improvement much needed by the people in Posey township, and the Commissioners did right in ordering it.
