- 1 May 1844 – Ohio County formed from Dearborn County.
- Jan 1845 – Ohio County boundaries changed to present boundaries.
- 1845-1849 – Ohio County continued to petition for more territory in the state legislature while Dearborn County tried to get territory back from Ohio County.
